Overview:

Paul Bryant said, “No coach has ever won a game by what he knows; it’s what his players know that counts.” That’s certainly true in the workplace, too! The key component of any manager or supervisor’s job is to help employees be successful, and that means investing time developing and coaching your team members.  No matter what the industry or job, employees across the board say effective, on-going feedback is the key to their success.  In this interactive program, we will discuss (1) how to find/make time to coach and (2) the nuts and bolts of being an effective performance coach.

The

Objectives:

During this program, we will cover:

  • An activity that simulates how difficult even a simple task can be when their is no two-way, face-to-face communication.  Communication and feedback is the key to success.
  • Six questions that define what coaching is and isn’t.
  • Coaching and the impact of trust – including where to start if you don’t have trust currently.
  • A process & sample coaching form to use for effective performance coaching.
  • Why documenting the coaching session is important – for you and for the employee.
  • What career development is, why it’s important, and a sample personal development plan to use.
