HAVING KEY CONVERSATIONS WITH HIGH, STEADY, & LOW PERFORMERS

The

Overview:

How many of the employees that you lead would you hire again?  Research shows most managers have an average of 1 or 2 employees on their team they would not rehire.  In today’s workplace, there is not room for low performance – we are already doing more with less!  Typically, only 40% of all low performers have received performance counseling or had actions documented by their manager (in other words, most leaders ignore the low performers, hoping they go away).  Remember, what you permit, you promote.  Do you re-recruit your best performers, develop those steady performers, and document the low performers?  We’ll talk about this and more in this program!

The

Objectives:

During this program, we will cover:

  • The qualities and characteristics of leaders who are getting 99% effort from their employees.
  • A typical breakdown of high-steady-low performers (and where your team is today).
  • How much time is typically spent with low performers, and stats around whether or not that time is well spent.
  • What you can do “re-recruit” your high performers, including why it’s fair to treat them differently.
  • Coaching conversation examples for high performers.
  • Moving up the middle performers.
  • Specifics on what you should do to coach your low performers.
  • Honestly assessing yourself as a leader.  Are you a high, middle, or low performing leader?
