Always of an entrepreneurial spirit, Kathy Peterson started her first successful business when she was 19.  While in her mid-twenties, she was selected for a position in global human resources conducting management training for a high-tech Fortune 500 company before deciding to start her own business, PeopleWorks, in 1998.  Today, Kathy’s unparalleled ability to motivate and transform people and organizations has made her one of the most sought after speakers in the Midwest.

Kathy enjoys being a member of several professional organizations,  including the: National Speakers Association, American Society for Training & Development, Society for Human Resource Management, Alta Chamber of Commerce, and Iowa Association of Lifelong Learning.  She earned a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from Iowa State University (Go Cyclones!) and a Master’s degree in Adult Learning and Organizational Performance from Drake University. In 2001, Kathy earned certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

In addition to being a successful business owner, Kathy is a wife and the proud mother of two sons and two daughters. She and her husband live on an acreage and are engaged in farming outside of Storm Lake, Iowa.
